What Is A Pourover Will?

Even if a Revocable Trust is set up, the Testator must still have a will. A "Pourover Will" is a form of a will that accompanies a Revocable Trust.

The way this will works is by "pouring over" to the Revocable Trust any assets not in the Trust at the time of the Testator's death. Usually, this Will contains very few substantive provisions, in essence saying: "Here is my Will, but for the contents, please look to the terms of my Trust, but should my Trust fail for some reason, please pull the terms from my Trust and pretend that they were contained here, in my Will."
