Marina Modlin
Attorney Marina Modlin helps clients to accumulate wealth and preserve wealth for future generations. Her firm, Modlin Legal Services, Inc., focuses exclusively on wills, and trusts: complete estate plans, plan review and updates (trusts and wills), and trust administration.
Attorney Modlin believes in helping her clients avoid the high costs of litigation with thorough planning. She excels at meticulous document drafting and review, analysis of unique circumstances, and the application of complex and frequently overlapping doctrines of law.
Ms. Modlin immigrated to the San Francisco Bay Area from Saint Petersburg, Russia. She earned a B.A. from the University of California at Davis, and a J.D. from the University of San Francisco School of Law. As a law student, Ms. Modlin represented defendants at the San Francisco Office of the Public Defender, assisted the in-house legal department of Yahoo!, Inc. and drafted proposed court orders for judges of the United States District Court of the Northern District of California. Ms. Modlin served as Vice President of the Jewish Law Student Association and as Staff Editor for the Journal of Law and Social Challenges. She was honored twice with the prestigious Law Merit Scholarship.
Immediately after graduating from law school, Ms. Modlin formed Modlin Legal, and spent two years working as a freelance attorney - an attorney who helps other attorneys with their workload on a project basis. In the recently-publishedThe Independence Track: How To Succeed As A Freelance Attorney, she documented her experiences and shared her freelance practice building expertise.
Ms. Modlin stopped working as a freelance attorney and converted Modlin Legal into a full service Wills & Trusts firm in January 2010. When she isn’t helping her clients, Ms. Modlin enjoys road and mountain biking, running, and yoga.
